Ellen Blinderman directs early childhood programs at UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science where she has shared her passion for science exploration and discovery with young children and their families for over 25 years. She designs professional development programs for early childhood educators in early STEM and is a contributing author to the Great Explorations in Math and Science (GEMS) teacher guides. A key focus of her work is the integration of school readiness skills and literacy with early science and math learning.

Ashley Barajas works as an Early Childhood Science Specialist at UC Berkeley’s Lawrence Hall of Science. Previously she attended UC Berkeley and obtained a bachelor's degree in biological anthropology. She is dedicated to combining her love of science with her passion for educating teachers of, and families with, young children. She conducts professional development workshops for educators and parents around the importance and accessibility of STEM, as well as develops and facilitates hands-on and engaging curriculum for children.

Pam is a professor of Child Development and Early Childhood Education at Los Medanos College, located in Northern California. Her areas of expertise include inquiry-based pedagogical practices and promoting developmentally and culturally appropriate practices in settings for young children. She works closely with her college laboratory school, where many of the activities for the ELMS course were field tested with children aged 3-5. Previously, she has also taught in Head Start, preschool, and infant/toddler programs.

Valeria Romero is a Research and Evaluation Associate at UC Berkeley's Lawrence Hall of Science where she leads and supports research and evaluation projects related to science professional development initiatives and programs aimed to increase underrepresented minority students in science disciplines. Prior to joining the Research Group, Valeria worked at the Greenlining Institute and the Chicana Latino Student Development Office at University of California, Berkeley, where she was able to address issues of access to education among underrepresented minority and low-income communities.
